Enhanced Vision Earns Prestigious Silmo Award

Enhanced Vision, the leading developer of products for people with low vision, once again has won the Silmo Gold Award for the "Most Innovative Low Vision Device" at the 2007 Silmo D’Or Conference. An audience of 2,000+ vision professionals from around the world saw Laurent Lovka, president of Etex France, an Enhanced Vision partner, presented with the award sought by several other low vision manufacturers on Saturday evening, October 20,2007. This special awards ceremony was hosted in Paris, France.
Silmo, established in 1967 by fifty manufacturers of ocular optics, has become the first showcase for international vision devices. Today, vision care experts from more than 950 companies converge upon the French conference to experience the next generation in visual technology.
Sam Walters Memorial Award
The Low Vision Division of VCA presented Enhanced Vision with the 2006 Sam Walters Memorial Award last month at International Vision Expo West for its contributions to the low vision industry. The award is presented annually to a member of the low vision community who has demonstrated outstanding creativity and innovation in the design, manufacture or delivery of low vision devices. Voted upon by peers in the low vision sector, the Sam Walters Award serves as a memorial to its namesake, who was a pioneer in serving the low vision industry.
Enhanced Vision has excelled in its technical innovation; creating products to help those living with low vision maintain their independence. With a focus on video magnifiers, Enhanced Vision has developed desktop video magnifiers, hand-held magnifiers and has contributed too many other advances in low vision solutions.
