Merlin Plus FAQ

Q. Why is the power not working?
A. Push the Power button on the Merlin Plus control panel. A light next to the Power button should turn on, indicating the power is on. Make sure the power supply cord is secure and completely plugged into an outlet.

Q. Why is the VGA Monitor not turning ON?
A. Make sure the VGA monitor power cord is completely plugged into the AC outlet. Check all power sources for a secure connection.

Q. Why is the image blurry or out of focus?
A. Clean the protective glass covering the camera with the non-abrasive lens cleaning cloth provided with your Merlin Plus.

Q. Why is my X-Y table dark?
A. Check that Merlin Plus is ON. If so, make sure the light switch under the Merlin control panel is ON.

Q. Why is it hard to move the X-Y Table?
A. Make sure the locking lever is positioned completely to the left.

Q. Why won’t my X-Y table lock?
A. Make sure the locking lever is all the way to the right and that the handle pops up into the locking slot.

Q. Why is the Foot Switch not responding?
A. Check that the foot switch cable is properly secured into the part labeled foot switch. Check that a valid computer signal or external video is connected to the back of Merlin Plus. If no computer or external video is connected to Merlin Plus, you will not be able to use the FOOT SWITCH. The monitor will display a warning once a computer signal or external video source is missing.

Q. Why is the Control Box not responding?
A. Check that the coil cable is properly secured in the control box and port.

Q. Why is the computer display not available on Merlin Plus even though my computer is ON and connected properly?
A. Turn Merlin Plus OFF, you should see the full computer image on the VGA monitor. If not, check that all VGA cable connections are secured. Once you can see the computer image with Merlin Plus OFF, check that your computer is set to one of the compatible resolutions and refresh rates. Once a compatible resolution and refresh rate have been set, turn ON Merlin Plus. You should now be able to use the FOOT SWITCH on the control box.
