Sam Walters Memorial Award
The Low Vision Division of VCA presented Enhanced Vision with the 2006 Sam Walters Memorial Award last month at International Vision Expo West for its contributions to the low vision industry. The award is presented annually to a member of the low vision community who has demonstrated outstanding creativity and innovation in the design, manufacture or delivery of low vision devices. Voted upon by peers in the low vision sector, the Sam Walters Award serves as a memorial to its namesake, who was a pioneer in serving the low vision industry.
Enhanced Vision has excelled in its technical innovation; creating products to help those living with low vision maintain their independence. With a focus on video magnifiers, Enhanced Vision has developed desktop video magnifiers, hand-held magnifiers and has contributed too many other advances in low vision solutions.
"Enhanced Vision lives up to its name, truly enhancing the vision and lives of those with low vision. The company’s low vision aids are a great example of the technological advances taking place within the industry," noted Richard Feinbloom, chair of the Low Vision Division. "Enhanced Vision has also taken an active role in VCA and has shown a strong commitment to bettering the optical industry."
